What this outcome means

The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"This airspace case is for the temporary construction haul route for the terminal building upgrades project at Columbia County Airport in Ghent New York. The haul route extends from NY Route 9H onto Columbia Airport County Road and accesses the airport through Gate No. 12. From there the access route from the staging area to the work area will be limited to the beginning and end of each work day. The contractor will stage materials and equipment at the site of the building addition as needed for daily construction operations to minimize traffic on the apron. Anticipated equipment height not to exceed 20 feet. Contractor to coordinate with airport and RPR prior to accessing staging area."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
