What this outcome means
The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"The proposed construction involves roof and window replacement at the existing USCG Aviation Life Support Systems Maintenance Shop (ANT) Building Project No. 4129315 a single-story 1997 steel-framed structure with an approximately 11 900 SF footprint located at coordinates approximately 57°03'19.3\N 135°22'13.7\"W to 57°03'21.3\"N 135°22'12.1\"W in Sitka Alaska adjacent to Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport (PASI). Scope includes removal and replacement of the low-slope BUR Roof A with a fully adhered EPDM assembly over new insulation and substrate; parapet coping replacement; addition of concealed-clip metal wall panels and hat channels in Roof B areas; full window replacement with thermally broken aluminum frames and triple-pane glazing; vertical panel joint repairs; interior GWB/insulation repairs; and installation of fall protection and new roof hatch/ladder. No permanent change to building height or elevation is proposed. Temporary equipment includes a 10 000 lb capacity all-terrain forklift with 55-foot fixed boom (tallest on-site equipment) for material handling during roof and wall work. Performance of work is scheduled April 2026 through September 2026 with primary equipment use concentrated in this window. No tower crane or higher-reaching equipment is planned. No prior geotechnical or airspace studies identified.\nON-SITE EQUIPMENT: Nifty 45' Articulating Boom Lift Sky Jack SJ1056 (forklift)""

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
