What this outcome means
The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"The United States Air Force (USAF) formally requests a 25-year permit renewal commencing 20 August 2026 to continue utilizing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) infrastructure at Hill 3265 in support of the Yukon Weapons Range. This remote communication air/ground facility relies on a 75-foot galvanized steel tower and a 20-foot ice bridge connected to USAF Communications Facility Building ZQUN 3265. The existing infrastructure houses coaxial cabling and supports NTIA-approved Ultra-High-Frequency (UHF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) ground-to-air radio antennas alongside a GPS receiver. This setup is critical for national defense requiring continuous 24/7 year-round operation regardless of weather conditions.\n\nNo new construction is anticipated under this renewal as the USAF seeks solely to maintain its current operations on the existing footprint. All antennas are currently mounted with required spacing (an optimum of eight feet or an approved minimum of six feet) from existing FAA equipment. Any future installation replacement or modification of the communications hardware will strictly adhere to FAA regulations including the submission of FAA Form 7460-1 and all associated safety protocols ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations."

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
