Mobile Crane - KSD Southview Roof Replace

Kearney, MO · near Midwest Ntl Air Center (2.4 mi)

Determination of no hazardDetermined - No Hazard180 ft AGL

What this outcome means

The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"This project will be to replace the existing roof decking on Southview Elementary School. The existing decking was deemed a safety risk so the replacement of this deck has been a part of an emergency construction project to complete this replacement over the summer for life safety concerns. The crane will only be used for a couple hours each day in the morning to hoist materials. When its not being used it will be down and not left in the air. The height of 180' is the max tip height of the proposed crane. The building height is around 2 stories and will not be changing during this project."
