What this outcome means

The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"Evaluation is requested for construction equipment not to exceed a height of 22' above proposed taxiway elevations for each of the three work areas for the Runway 4-22 and Connector Taxiway Fillets project at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. The tallest piece of equipment that will be utilized during construction is a dump truck for asphalt delivery. All equipment will be marked utilizing a 3'x3' orange and white checkered flag during the day and rotating amber beacons at night if necessary. AC 150/5370-2G has been included in the specifications for the contractor's reference. See attached location plan for work area locations."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
