USA 250 Commemorative Flagpole
Waukesha, WI, WI · near Waukesha County (2.2 mi)
What this outcome means
The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"CITY OF WAUKESHA – Lowell Park “America 250” Commemorative Flagpole \nProject Brief Narrative\nIn recognition of “America 250” the City of Waukesha Parks Recreation & Forestry Department seeks to install an 80-foot Flagpole that can support a 20’x30’ Flag at Lowell Park (2201 Michigan Ave Waukesha WI). \n“The need” was brought to our attention that the park currently does not have a flagpole and among the wide variety of activities that take place the park serves as the home for the City of Waukesha Independence Day celebrations (estimated attendance 14 000) featuring fireworks food/beverage vendors and music. It was deemed that the addition of the flagpole would be a very fitting tribute and statement recognizing our Nation’s 250th! The project is being supported by a generous donation received from The Park Foundation of Waukesha ($27 000). \nThe general flagpole specs are - Height: 80’ Base Dia: 12” Top Dia: 4”. Wall: .375” Max Flag Rating: 105mph with 20x30' Flag. Proposed required lighting of the flag is specifically designed for and conducive to properly accommodate a large flag on an 80-foot pole. \nWe are currently working in cooperation with our local (Waukesha County) Airport Director and Zoning Department to address any permitting requirements and installation concerns.\nCurrent project timeline: Flagpole installation in mid-late May 2026 and installation of flagpole lighting to follow shortly after that with flag raising ceremony to be held on July 3rd"

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
