Old Highway 95 UPRR bridge POINT 4
Athol, ID · near Coeur D'Alene/Pappy Boyington Fld (11.5 mi)
What this outcome means
The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"Mobile Object Height: 15 feet - The Lakes Highway District of Kootenai county Idaho has proposed an earthen embankment topped by public roadway that will bisect the runway of ID48 Western Spur (operational FAA-charted private use facility with based aircraft) at the approximately 2 300 ft runway mark severing the southern 500 feet. The proposed structure is approximately 20 ft embankment height plus 15 ft roadway clearance. The roadway atop the embankment introduces an elevated dynamic hazard over the remaining runway threshold. Moving vehicles create unpredictable clearance and visual hazards during takeoff landing and low-altitude operations."

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
