Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
Austin, TX · near Austin-Bergstrom Intl (5.7 mi)
What this outcome means
The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"A lattice boom crawler crane will be used to lift and install sheet piles that are up to 50FT in length. Sheet piles will be threaded together against a template system from the top down requiring 100FT of height clearance. After the sheet piles are threaded they will be driven into the ground utilizing a crane-hung hydraulic hammer. A 160-Ton Kobelco CK1600-G crane with boom length up to 190FT (maximum boom tip elevation of 196FT) will be used to achieve the installation of the sheet piles. Boom height will vary during operation as the angle and length of the crane boom will be altered but the maximum height will not exceed 196FT."

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
