F-35 Emitter Trailer
Ballinger, TX · near Bruce Fld (0.5 mi)
What this outcome means
The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"Draken International is under contract to provide a ground-based threat emitter capability for the 457 FS at Fort Worth JRB. We are placing a ground-based threat emitter at Bruce Field to provide training to aircraft flying in the Brownwood MOA. The threat emitter consists of a trailer (8'w x 12'l x 7'h) with a small RADAR on top. The RADAR is a rotating open array antenna 3' long atop a small pedestal. The system provides RADAR emission in the frequency range 5-12 GHz. The RADAR in use has FCC approval to transmit anywhere in the US and its possessions. The system is enclosed by a 6' high chain link fence and marked with appropriate signage."

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
