Determination of no hazardDetermined - No Hazard201 ft AGL

What this outcome means

The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"The proposed project involves the reconstruction of the existing bridge along Minnesota Avenue over a drainage ditch just south of Norton Drive. The permanent bridge structure will not be elevated any higher than the existing bridge which crosses the existing ditch at the same elevation as the adjacent roadway. Basically flat.\n \nDuring construction drilling rigs will be used to excavate for the bridge foundations. These rigs will be approximately 80ft tall. Also cranes will be used to lift steel reinforcing cages into the drilled holes. These cranes will also be approximately 80ft tall. Also cranes will be used to lift precast bridge girders into place. These cranes will be approximately 50ft tall.\n\nThe proposed construction will occur over a period of 8 months however the drilling equipment and cranes used to lift reinforcing cages will likely occur over the period of 1 month. Similarly the lifting and hanging of the bridge girders will last another month."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
