What this outcome means

The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"In support of the FAA eVTOL Integration Pilot Program a 25 ft portable antenna tower is proposed to be positioned at the South Vault at the Albuquerque International Sunport. The tower supports separate C band command and control datalink antennas and T Mobile LTE and 5G connectivity to ensure safe and effective operations for the Reliable Robotics C208B Unmanned Aircraft System. FAA spectrum engineering concurrence has been obtained ref NG T260842 and the FCC ref 1200 EX ST 2026 has authorized use of C band datalink in support of this proposed UAS operation for eIPP. The 25 ft height is inclusive of the proposed portable tower and affixed antennas. In consideration of operational safety the proposed tower placement and operational plans have been precoordinated with key stakeholders including the City of Albuquerque FAA Air Traffic Control representatives and local USAF authorities. The FAA has issued a COA for UAS operations as part of the eIPP effort."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
