Honolulu, HI · near Ft Derussy (1.8 mi)

Determination of no hazardDetermined - No Hazard669 ft AGL

What this outcome means

The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"Tower Crane 1 & 2 are being temporarily erected to support the construction of a new high-rise condominium building and are a necessity for construction of the project. Without these tower cranes construction of the project is not feasible. Due to the height of these temporary Tower Cranes a FAA Notice was determined to be required.\n\nBoth tower cranes are luffing type cranes (LIEBHERR 542 HC-L 18 LITRONIC). Meaning the maximum height of the tower crane (elevation of the boom) is dependent on the angle of the boom; maximum height occurs when the boom is at 90 deg . Additionally the max radius of both tower cranes is 213'.\n\nTower Crane 1 is anticipated to be erected in June 2026 and will have an initial maximum height of 403'. Between June 2026 to May 2028 Tower Crane 1 will be increased in height in four stages to achieve a final maximum height of 669'. This crane is anticipated to be dismantled in May 2028.\n\nTower Crane 2 is anticipated to be erected in July 2026 and will have an initial maximum height of 341'. Tower Crane 2 will remain at this height until it is dismantled in November 2027."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
