What this outcome means

The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"The project scope includes the construction of a new apron capable of supporting two Boeing 767-300 aircraft along with a new taxiway connector linking the apron to Taxiway A. Work also includes adjusting or relocating existing utilities within the project area; installing new edge lighting light poles and directional signage; and completing drainage improvements such as installing a culvert beneath the new taxiway connector addressing ponding on the existing apron grading shoulders and adjusting existing drainage utilities. Additional elements include new pavement markings installation of a new AWOS and removal of the existing Surface Weather System (SWS) with relocation pending FAA direction. This study is for the proposed AWOS location."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
