Determination of no hazardDetermined - No Hazard80 ft AGL

What this outcome means

The FAA studied the proposal and concluded it would not be a hazard to air navigation. A no-hazard determination is not permanent — it carries an expiration date, and if the structure is not built by then the case has to be re-filed.

The proposal, in the filer's words

"Proposed work: Permanent Obstructions: The proposed work includes reconstruction of the head and conversion of the faces of an EXISTING billboard to digital format. No change is proposed in the location of the billboard. The proposed billboard will have an 80-foot OAH and will have 20x60 faces. Temporary Obstruction: Temporary obstruction includes the use of a 250-ton crane needed during the temporary removal and subsequent picks and erection of the billboard head and its digital faces; the crane will have a maximum boom of 105 feet. All work will be scheduled to minimize impact to PHL Airport Operations. Work will occur between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:30 pm; no night work is proposed."

Screening a structure of your own?

Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file

LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
