Crane - Terminal E Light Pole Construction
Philadelphia, PA · near Philadelphia Intl (0.5 mi)
What this outcome means
The FAA sent the case back to the filer rather than issuing a determination. This is the most common non-clean outcome and usually means something has to change or be supplied before the study can finish — not that the project was refused.
The proposal, in the filer's words
"This project is Phase 2 of the Ramp Lighting Project for Terminals A-East and E at Philadelphia International Airport. This project comprises upgrades to ramp lighting for Terminals A-East and E. Major construction components of the project include: demolition of existing building-mounted roof-mounted and ground-mounted lights; excavation and construction of light foundations; erection of light poles and fixtures; cabling and conduit installation from fixtures to airport substations; and concrete slab construction. This submission applies to the mobile crane that will be used to install light poles adjacent to the gates around Terminal E. The points in this 7460 submission pertain to the boundaries of the operational area for the mobile crane that will be used around Terminal E. Separate cases were submitted for the permanent light poles around Terminal A-East (2026-AEA-830-NRA 2026-AEA-829-NRA) and Terminal E (2026-AEA-824-NRA 2026-AEA-825-NRA 2026-AEA-826-NRA 2026-AEA-827-NRA 2026-AEA-828-NRA). A separate case was submitted for the mobile crane to be used for installation of the light poles around Terminal A-East (2026-AEA-832-NRA). The Construction Safety Plan (CSPP) for the project was submitted under Case# 2026-AEA-578-NRA."

Screening a structure of your own?
Check Part 77 and the tower's line of sight before you file
LOS Analyzer screens a proposed structure against FAA Part 77 surfaces and the control tower's sightline to the runway, terrain-aware, in minutes. It is a preliminary screening — not an FAA determination and not a substitute for a licensed engineering review.
