9,426 new FAA obstruction filings, Aug 22 – Sep 12, 2026
Everything that changed in the FAA's public obstruction archive between its Aug 22, 2026 and Sep 12, 2026 snapshots: the Part 77 notices new to the record, the determinations the FAA issued, which organisations were named for the first time, and whose no-hazard determinations are about to run out. The FAA publishes a sponsor's name only with its determination, so 8,088 of the new filings are still anonymous; they are counted everywhere and listed only above 200 ft. A further 255 filings by private individuals are counted nowhere on this page.

Hazard determinations
The FAA issues fewer than ten of these a year. Each one is worth reading.

Returned to proponent — the tallest
The most common non-clean outcome: the case went back to the filer.
Cleared — the tallest no-hazard determinations
Determined not to be a hazard to air navigation, with an expiration date attached.
Expiring in the next 90 days
A no-hazard determination lapses on its expiration date. If the structure is not built by then, the notice has to be filed again — and the FAA sends no reminder. 20,174 organisation-held determinations expire between Sep 12, 2026 and Dec 11, 2026.

How this is built
The FAA republishes its Obstruction Evaluation / Airport Airspace Analysis archive every Saturday. We load each snapshot and diff it against the last. "New" means a case that first appeared in the archive published Sep 12, 2026; determinations are dated by the FAA's own completion date; expirations by its expiration date. Off-airport Part 77 notices only. The FAA withholds a sponsor's name until it issues a determination, so most new filings are anonymous when they first appear; anonymous structures under 200 ft are never listed individually because the archive cannot say whether the filer is a private individual. Cases the archive does attribute to private individuals are excluded from every count and list on this page. This is a readable mirror of a public record, not the record itself — the FAA's portal is authoritative. Corrections: support@idea-engine.studio.
